Purism and minimalism have constantly been the muses of Lucio Vanotti's design, the A/W 13-14 collection included. I especially adore the sea digital print. I have always wanted to get a sweater with sea printed on it. On top of that, clean cuts but sophisticated details are the vital reasons why I admire him.

Born in 1975 and studied at the Marangoni Institute of Milan, Lucio Vanotti is an anti-romantic fashion designer. His way to conceive fashion is rational, essential and leads to avoid everything that’s superfluous. The design process is clear, fast and efficient, as if it was ruled by a mathematical formula and aims to achieve a perfect simplicity.

His variables work are sign, matter and surface and he uses purism and concision as instruments to intervene on the garments. By reducing every single item of clothing to the necessary and removing the meaningless, the designer comes to a basic form that is precise and complete with everything that has been edited away.
